The financial analyst will be responsible for performing accounting and controlling functions for the development & maintenance of product costing, the financial close and budgeting processes as well as for executing diverse analysis for operations and sales functions.

 

Financial Analyst

Your tasks

  • Provides timely and relevant financial information to support decision making.
  • Provides financial analytical support to teams engaged in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performs monthly close within the required deadlines.
  • Performs inventory evaluations according to IFRS guidelines
  • Essential in budgeting process
  • Maintains product costing system.
  • Key user for SAP CO module
  • Adheres to compliance and support external and internal audits
  • Prepares & presents financial analysis to Site Controller and key business segment leaders.
  • Generates diverse analytics and reports for management team.
  • Heavy interaction with functional leaders.
  • Assists in preparation of business reviews and presentations to senior management.
  • Assists in identification of risks and process improvement opportunities.
  • Assists in investment evaluation analysis to support capital investment projects.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and 5-7 years of related experience in increasingly responsible roles, including both accounting and analysis work.
  • Experience work in a process manufacturing environment highly desired.
  • Related work experience in cost accounting and/or finance.
  • Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, business planning and month-end close responsibilities, etc.
  • Experience with integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment a requirement.
  • Proven leadership skills, strong business acumen and good problem solving and analytical skills necessary.
  • Comfortable with continuous changes in the work environment. Works well under pressure, with a sense of urgency, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Adept at prioritizing work and coordinating tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with complex analytical models in MS Excel and/or MS Access
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion
  • Able to prepare and present complex data in a simple, understandable manner.
  • Strong analysis skills, with ability to apply good judgment to business planning and annual planning processes.
  • Ability to initiate and lead projects/teams, drive actions, and provide recommendations for decision making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Proactively questions current practices, ability to identify root cause and corrective actions and drive improvements.
  • Direct line report to Head of Finance
  • Position is located in Durham, NC
  • Travel is minimal (less than 10%)
