Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Engineer
Previous experience in manufacturing leading and implement LEAN techniques and solutions in production of medical devices (Silicone/Plastic Injection Molding)

Your tasks

  • Enhance and improve manufacturing processes through application of Lean practices.
  • Develop optimal workflow and cell designs for shop throughput and process time reduction with conducting time studies and process flow mapping.
  • Assist team with the automation of production equipment/processes (i.e. Starview, EAM)
  • Working with Engineering/NPI and Production, develops lean manufacturing processes for new and existing business opportunities, which may include new and/or modified plant, equipment and process needs
  • Assure compliance with the requirements of all regulatory needs including ISO 13485, OSHA, etc.
  • Documentation of processes within the company’s documentation procedures.
  • Lead GROWTTH (Get, Rid of Waste, Through, Team, Harmony) initiatives including monthly meetings, facilitation of Kaizen events, White Belt training and others as planned.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, FDA and ISO regulations.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor of Science preferably Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree or years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment in the medical device industry.
  • Experience in a structured regulatory environment with advanced quality systems such as ISO13485 or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing lean principles in a manufacturing environment. Strong applied knowledge with Lean manufacturing techniques, value stream mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships across the organization.
  • Able to plan and organize daily activities, analyze data and react to changes and challenges in the business.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
  • Familiarity with statistical problem solving techniques to make educated decisions based on data.
  • Attention to detail and able to work independently and on a team with little supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Green Belt certification in Lean or Six Sigma desired.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD software, 2D& 3D.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
