Electrical Engineer

Your tasks

Freudenberg TEXBond Co. is looking for a very “hands-on” Electrical Engineer to join its Engineering & Maintenance Group.  As a member of the Engineering and Maintenance Team this position will have an opportunity to work with a world class Nonwovens Company, in a manufacturing environment, and be responsible for helping the Engineering & Maintenance Group maintain, improve, and expand the plant and physical facilities to meet or exceed customer requirements while working within the approved Capital and Expense Plan of the TEXBond Division. This job represents an excellent opportunity for an Engineer who wants to do it all – Project Management, Installations, Upgrades, and Trouble Shooting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and implement projects of various size and scope to included but not limited to engineering studies, specifications, cost estimating, start-ups, and employee training.
  • Provide design and project management support to the Engineering and Maintenance Team in the electrical area of Freudenberg TEXBond – Building Materials-NA Division. 
  • Become a valued team member that helps lead the Building Materials-NA Division towards a lean manufacturing culture with the proper application of technology.
  • Provide direct support to Electrical Maintenance Team.
  • Perform Weekend On-Call duties on a rotating basis.
  • Support all company safety objectives through modification or redesign of equipment.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor software.

Our expectations


  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited school with 3 – 5 years experience in a production operation with emphasis on “hands-on” electrical engineering and maintenance work.



  • Siemens PLC systems, HMI and Drive experience is highly desired.
  • Technical Electrical Engineer background with emphasis toward practical machine operation, design, and specification.  It would be helpful if this experience is polyester related. Nonwovens, Extrusion Processes, Plastics, and/or Paper manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and participate in projects of various size and scope including ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with in house electricians and outside contractors to complete necessary electrical work.
  • Ability to coordinate with people in cross functional areas, and adapt to rapid change.
  • Working knowledge of available technical resources dealing in Nonwovens fabrics and or related fields.
  • Experience with Excel, and other Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be knowledgeable in AutoCAD.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to take "on call" coverage and work flexible, non-traditional hours.
  • Proven ability to resolve complicated technical problems and identify root cause and creatively bringing issues to resolution.
  • Team-oriented and responsive to customer needs.

  • Position is located in Macon, GA.
  • Travel may be required and normally 10%.
  • Relocation may be available.
  • Job regularly requires standing and constant visual attention (67% or greater of the time) as well as frequent (34%-66% of the time) walking.
  • Occasional standing, stooping, pulling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds (12%-33% of the time).
  • Required to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • Exposure to high voltage electricity, heavy equipment and moving machinery, as well as forklift traffic, requires a high degree of safety consciousness.
  • Work environment may include exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, chemicals, and fumes.
  • Pressure of shifting priorities and demanding schedules is routine.
  • Reports to Maintenance Manager.
