Customs Compliance and SAP Master Data Administrator
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - Corporate compliance activity of the company’s U.S. operations and serve as the prime contact for internal import/export compliance and government inquires or notifications

Your tasks

  • Work with all sites globally (Germany, Ireland, China, Costa Rica & USA) on compliance issues such as:
    • Documentation requirements
    • Support assessment and implementation of duty recovery/drawback opportunities
    • Country of Origin and marking determinations
    • Actively supporting operational process controls
    • Training of employees on import/export compliance paperwork, processes, and policies
    • Classification of materials, finished goods, equipment and tooling
    • Complete Free Trade Agreement certificates for internal and external customers
    • Communication and execution of proper marking rules at all manufacturing sites
    • Perform sanction party screening against relevant country lists
    • Develop and maintain company trade data in SAP and/or other systems and tools
    • Maintain compliance to government import, export and customs regulations
    • Establish and maintain record keeping processes
  • Stay current on import/ export regulatory changes
  • Manage custom brokers and establish Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Perform periodic post-entry audits against customs reports and customs broker electronic data, vendor and shipper invoice, visual compliance/exports and import documentation
  • Perform trade risk assessments.
  • Support implementation of sanctioned party screening process in accordance with Freudenberg guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with the Export Control policy of Freudenberg
  • Participate in internal customs and export audits.
  • Work together with the regional and corporate Freudenberg Customs Compliance Managers
  • Assist with any other freight and logistics inquiries at the sites
  • Manage the global customer/ supplier setup and deletion process in SAP
  • Manage Employee setup and updates in SAP
  • Assist with minor contract administration duties (Non-Disclosure Agreements, financial health assessment.)

Our expectations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relative Trade Compliance, Customs Brokerage, or relative experience required.
  • Fluent English with excellent verbal and written skills at (80%).
  • Experience working in customs directly dealing with the manufacturing/ medical device industry
  • Stay current on U.S. and Costa Rica import/ export regulatory changes and proposed legislation
  • Working knowledge of ACE and ability to navigate and extract pertinent trade data
  • Support team building Bills of Material in SAP to include trade data
  • Demonstrated capabilities in problem-solving and/or development of standard operating procedures and processes
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products and familiarity with multiple database applications is preferred.
  • Strong team member able to work collaboratively with others in a fast-pasted environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in problem-solving and/or development of standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Ability to develop and provide technical training.
  • Strong understanding of value (valuation), classification, origin, entry/clearance requirements, goods subject to import prohibition, restriction or licensing requirements.
  • Excellent technical acumen in trade compliance
  • Strong commitment to cross-collaboration, and customer focus to enable business solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms
  • Ability to travel to the US 15% of the time
  • Position can be 80% remote / work from home.
