Project Engineer I – Injection Molding
Executes New Product Launch to Manufacturing for Plastic Injection Molding Medical Devices

Your tasks

  • Work closely with project managers  to gather/prepare all documentation relevant to a particular project
  • Responsible for Drafting and issuing validation protocols and production documents using information provided by customers and project managers
  • Responsible for gathering customer and technical information as required to make changes to documents or procedures at the customers request
  • Responsible for  engineering quotations, making decisions on pricing and standards and communicating to customer as needed
  • Work with Document Control to ensure documentation is issued as required
  • Create Bills of Material per customer requirements
  • Train production team members and validation coordinators as needed
  • Quote engineering, validation and mold trial runs as needed per the Engineer’s instructions
  • Assist Engineering by performing and documenting metrology information as needed
  • Assist Project Managers to perform statistical analysis for validations and troubleshooting activities
  • Draft and issue validation deviations, change controls and other reports as required
  • Provide inputs to quoting team for any new projects or modifications to existing quotes
  • Participates/supports in safety and lean/continuous improvement initiatives.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 1 to 2 years experience in an engineering role or internship within a manufacturing operation, injection molding preferred
  • Knowledge of organization structure, workflow and operating procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Hands-on experience of Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis skills desired
  • Knowledge of various measurement equipment i.e. CMM, vision system, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers etc.
  • Knowledge of document generation and issuance in regulated industry in compliance with ISO 13485 a plus.
  • Knowledge of Injection molding, process validation and mold validation a plus
  • Knowledge of cGMP and Change control
  • Detailed oriented, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Self-driven and flexible with an ability to adapt to a very fast paced environment and handle confidential information
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to use independent judgment
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written & spoken) as required for job related communication throughout the organization
