Your tasks


Responsible for overseeing business development of proprietary radial shaft seals, valve stem seals and encoders in the North American region at automotive OEMs; manage development team, defining priorities, negotiate resources for activities, discuss with other teams solutions for technical issues; provide support for direct reports; lead and support the generation of new business and proactive project management to maximize customer satisfaction; provide engineering management support to internal and external customers and the sales team in technical and project-related issues, specifically for engine applications; present and explain the functionality of Freudenberg sealing product and process innovations to engine applications to customers to find the best technical solution for Freudenberg-NOK customers and automotive OEMs; lead technical discussions for future engines and respective sealing concepts; collaborate closely with Freudenberg-NOK technical experts for engine seals and the proprietary injection process globally (USA, France, Italy, Japan, Germany) and associated departments, such as materials engineering, testing, operations, quality, and the laboratory; oversee PPAP engine testing and validation process for customer projects; initiate field return investigations for warranty and create required testing reports; assist the sales team in commercial discussions; utilize PPAP, FMEA, NX, SAP R3, MS Project, Project Management, VA/VE and APQP to perform duties; support the development of radial shaft seals, valve stem seals and Encoders; oversee problem solving for quality issues and follow-up of corrective actions; participate in VA/VE, cost reduction, and lean management initiatives; collaborate with the product development, quality, and manufacturing representatives at automotive OEMs to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and increase in business; collaborate with the Freudenberg-NOK sales team as a technical representative on the specialized valve stem seals, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of responses to customer requests; and ensure information flow from customer and sales team to technical experts globally.

Our expectations

Education: Bachelor’s – Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree).

Training: None

Experience: Four (4) years in the position above, as a Product Development Engineer, or in a related occupation. 

Other Requirements: Experience must include four (4) years use of all the following: PPAP, FMEA, NX, MS Project, Project Management, APQP, VA/VE and development of radial shaft seals, valve stem seals and Encoders.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
