Lead the Trade Marketing Team and help drive the customer strategy with the Key Account Managers and Local Marketing Teams.  Overall objectives are to maximize O-Cedar’s market share in the cleaning category, while driving growth in the overall category for our retailers. Focus on not only the short-term initiatives but also the longer term strategic planning and overall customer development by channel.  Lead the development of in-store / customer marketing efforts that help to build the O-Cedar brand in the US market.

 

Customer Marketing Manager

Your tasks

  • Develop and recommend go to market Trade Marketing elements (e.g. promotion, pricing, Retailer product portfolio, merchandising) with specific retailers, based on their unique programming and go to market strategies
  • Focus and lead the implementation of Trade Marketing  and Channel strategies that allow maximization of POS activity
  • Develop selling stories (both national and account specific), to help drive top line sales, awareness, and trial of products for the US customer set
  • Utilize syndicated data, competitive intelligence, and macro consumer trends to best position O-Cedar in the marketplace and to analyze the effectiveness and ROI of customer trade programming
  • Co-lead customer line review deck development with KAMs and Category Management teams
  • Co-lead Catman and shelf Management projects for customer specific initiatives
  • Generate and evaluate SAP Sales & Product Reports such as providing monthly analysis on retail accounts
  • Manage the day to day operational, product and marketing issues for assigned customer set
  • Develop and mentor the Trade Marketing direct report and help further develop their career
  • Assist in monitoring our top priority product performances by Customer and in tracking both O-Cedar and competitor pricing to suggest the right SRPs 

Our expectations

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Business Administration, Marketing or Sales a plus
  • Experience in customer marketing, Shopper Marketing, Category Management or Sales preferred
  • Minimum 6 years job experience – Consumer Packaged Goods a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and direct reports
  • Clear understanding of major retail customers & buyer trade / sales processes
  • Demonstrate initiative to bring forward ideas and solutions
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent business communication skills, written and oral – must be strong presenter
  • Analytical skills & fluent abilities to work with data in Excel
  • Team player & ability to build effective relationships within the different functional departments

This position is located at our cleaner, greener headquarters in Aurora, Illinois. Saving energy and protecting the environment were key in designing and building our newest facility in Aurora, IL. Opened in the fall of 2009, it’s one of only six industrial buildings in the Tri-State area (IL, IN and WI) to be Silver LEED® (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified. Located near a wetland of flora and fauna, we’ve been especially conscious of their ecosystem by building wetland-bottom detention ponds that slow storm water runoff and improve the quality of the water leaving the site.
