Automations Engineer
Experience with SolidWorks, Machining PLC and Robotics are required

Your tasks

  • Responsible for medical automation integration, validation and commissioning activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ processes, writing of SOPs, training manuals, etc
  • Evaluate, test, install, and maintain new automation systems, including tooling and fixtures
  • Must have interpersonal skills and the ability to work with operators, project engineers and project leaders
  • Provide plant support on new and existing designs
  • Attend program, staff, company, design review, ISO, and group meetings and actively participate in discussions
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine and improve manufacturing processes
  • Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve Automation related production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding spare parts purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
  • Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
  • Design and build, or coordinate construction, of Automated Assembly Equipment, and Inspection Equipment
  • Creating instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for use of implemented equipment
  • Train production and maintenance departments on use and maintenance of equipment
  • Act as sustaining engineer for implemented automation and material handling equipment
  • Support quoting and/or capital request process with required layouts and concept design for automation related projects
  • Interact with customers and vendors
  • Participate and support in safety and lean/continuous improvement initiatives.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required or related equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum overall manufacturing assembly/test equipment and automation experience
  • An understanding of component manufacturing techniques, such as injection molding, machining, etc
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications
  • Good understanding of Mechanical Design Principals
  • The ability to improve current design methods is preferred
  • An understanding of drafting principals, dimensioning and tolerancing
  • The ability to use ASME Y14.5 and Document Requirements Manual is preferred
  • Required technical knowledge includes product, tooling, and fixture design, working knowledge of material selection including metals and non-metals, technical working knowledge of design software Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Flexibility and adaptability and a sincere commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written & spoken) as required for job related communication throughout the organization
  • Well Organized with accurate and attention to detail
