Project Manager - Medical Devices
Previous experience in product development with project leadership or in a project manager position for a manufacturing company in a regulated industry

Your tasks

  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring and managing project schedules.
  • Identify and manage resolution of potential deviations from the quote/contract, Project Master Plan or other project documents along with performing and managing project risk relative to the client and Freudenberg Medical.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and personnel from client companies assigned to a development project
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify creative ideas and unique solutions
  • Translate user needs and other customer input into clear, concise design requirements and design concepts.
  • Create and document design concepts through the use of 3D CAD software and rapid prototyping methodologies
  • Create concept models and prototypes utilizing small tools and equipment.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors to ensure completion of projects per the agreed upon milestones and within budget.
  • Manage internal billing activities for clients along with leading the development of the transfer cost of goods sold (TCOGS) with collaboration for the operations team.
  • Responsible to coordinate the production line up through transfer to sustaining manufacturing.
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis (as required) and provide monthly updates to Freudenberg Medical Management.
  • Document project and team meetings minutes and distribute to appropriate management. Ensure client issues/deviations are resolved and documented in a timely manner.
  • Communicate variances in project budgets, plans and schedules with clients, Business Development and Management.
  • Coordinating/developing quotes to work with Business Development teams.
  • Support contract development for product development and manufacturing projects.
  • Track project budget to plan and identify and improve processes to reduce costs.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor of Science engineering degree, BSME or BSBME (or related discipline) and experience, in the medical device field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in product development as an engineer or in a project manager position for a manufacturing company in medical device industry
  • Knowledge of catheter assembly processes (extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow, etc.)
  • Technical product development experience, e.g. design, process, or quality engineering
  • Extensive experience with Solidworks is required
  • Working knowledge of both FDA and CE design controls
  • Strong technical writing ability.
  • ProChain Professional Certification required (will provide training)
  • Leadership ability to work with cross-functional teams and organizational skills.
  • Strong team oriented professional with good interpersonal skills who is hands-on with a high energy approach to work.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and programs, particularly Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) both to senior management, customers and associates
  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM)
  • MBA degree or the educational equivalent
