This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and leading a wide range of internal and external marketing communications initiatives, including digital, social, public relations and sales collateral development efforts.  The job holder will be a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Chem-Trend Brand and will be involved in the creation, planning and execution of external and internal communications activities, some of a global nature.  Position influences, mentors and supports regional communications related activities through interaction with regional marketing and colleagues in a variety of other business functions.

Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

Your tasks

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with local and regional units on ensuring a consistent, professional and high quality image of Chem-Trend is presented internally and to the marketplace throughout all communication related touch points.
  • Work with Chem-Trend’s appointed marketing services vendors, actively managing selected short and long-term projects as required.
  • Act as a central project manager and coordinator of global and cross regional marketing projects, maintaining a pulse on marketing team activities across the globe, facilitating the leveraging of work across internal organizational boundaries and maintaining a disciplined approach to project timelines and outcomes.
  • Develop and execute a digital marketing strategy for Chem-Trend, including SEO, SEM, email programs and a social media framework.
  • Coordinate and manage Chem-Trend’s website content, both written as well as multi-media through internal as well as external sources.  Become the internal website CMS expert, providing regional entities support and guidance in keeping their local website content up to date and relevant in accordance with the brand messaging. 
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to form and execute projects to address objectives outlined in the marketing plan.
  • Actively work with internal functional areas to disseminate marketing-related information and materials to field sales personnel as well as distribution partners.
  • Lead in the gathering, writing and editing of items for Chem-Trend’s internal digital newsletter.  Coordinate and conduct the writing of various corporate communications materials and manage several internal collaboration and information sites used by Chem-Trend marketing staff and external agencies.
  • Lead outside vendors and internal subject matter experts in the generation, review/approval process and dissemination of a variety of press releases aimed at supporting brand awareness and image building.
  • Support the development of a marketing measurement culture throughout the organization by integrating and promoting measurement goals and methods across marketing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent command of the English language in the written form. Strong ability to proofread, edit and create written content of various forms. Ability to take technical oriented content and reorient it into information that contains relevance and emotion for a range of audience types.

  • High level of comfort in performing hands on tasks with a wide range of digital platforms and tools (CRM, Website CMS, Social Media, Google Analytics, etc.).

Our expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in a marketing communications role either at an agency or in a corporate marketing environment.  Significant experience within an industrial B2B environment is highly desired.
  • Hands on experience in multiple digital marketing activities, including things like managing a website CMS, digital content development, AdWords, SEO, website analytics and Social Media.
  • Hands on understanding of CRM systems with prior experience in utilizing such systems to conduct proactive marketing activities.
  • Experience in developing and managing multi-faceted marketing projects requiring the coordination of multiple internal and external parties.
  • Possess high levels of energy, tenacity and passion for marketing communications.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC and internet programs/platforms and working knowledge of DTP and related software.
  • Ability to travel 10 – 15 % of time domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in additional languages is preferred (German, Chinese or Spanish).
