Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities of their shift. The primary responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include directing job assignments and providing leadership to the production staff; managing production resources for a high volume manufacturing operation; maintaining high levels of order fulfillment with good quality and operating in safe conditions. The Production Supervisor is accountable for inspiring, training, and developing their team to achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability.

Shift:                    12-hour day shift (Week 1 – Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun; Week 2 – Wed, Thu, Fri)

Your tasks

Injection Molding

  • Utilize prior experience leading injection molding team, as well as working knowledge of processing plastics.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.


  • Knowledge of production KPIs and communicate the KPIs to production staff.
  • Operate the following Production Machines – Drill Fill, Easy Wring & Clean Automation Line (All Positions), Sponge Machine, Spinner Machine, Injection Molding Press
  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback on employee performance; motivate and develop a cohesive production team; maintain production and attendance records.
  • Shift Supervision coverage for other departments on same schedule.
  • Make timely decisions to maintain production output and quickly analyze situations and provide direction to production staff.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to maximize productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, reduce costs and provide a safe work environment.
  • Understand escalation process for when issues move from maintenance to engineering.
  • Understand schedules and priorities 
  • Interact well with all levels of the organization.

  • Waste Management and monitoring what is happening on the floor.
  • Effectively communicate with Maintenance when an issue needs to be so it does not become a safety issue, or give direction due to production demand.


  • Print labels/operate bartender; fill out hour-by-hour boards; navigate QT9 document management system.
  • Review procedures and inform quality if procedure is not being followed and / or needs revision; make revision on document / form and submit in QT9.
  • Conduct 5 why’s and fishbone; reading/reprint shop orders; fill out inspections sheets and train operators how to fill out properly; verify product made correct in Comcol.
  • Understand which areas are affected/impacted.


  • Know and understand the LPMS system (formal training provided).
  • Participate in Kaizen events.
  • See one, do one, teach one (transfer learnings to shop floor).
  • Hold employees accountable for progress tied to LEAN activities.

Our expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree preferred. CQE or other quality and regulatory certificates preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of processing plastics along with experience leading injection molding team. Lean Manufacturing (or similar process) skills required with proven ability to lead and drive this type of program in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting and adjusting molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Experience using and facilitating APQP procedures and techniques.
  • Experienced SAP user. Experience using Microsoft Office tools and 3D product design tools.
  • Demonstrated application of statistical methods using statistics software (as Minitab) to set up statistical test designs and run ANOVAs or Weibull analyses.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to coach employees and manage employee conflicts. Requires excellent communication skills with very strong interpersonal abilities. Aware of being in charge of entire plant floor.
  • Basic knowledge of production infrastructure (such as chiller / air compressor).
  • Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and able to put ideas into tangible form. Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities to critical project disciplined collaboration; innovative development through review and re-design of own area; excellence in execution.
