Job Summary:

 

Primarily responsible for all tasks associated with defining strategic partnerships with National Labs and Universities including strategic industrial partnerships in the North American region. Leads strategic R&D projects in the area of Freudenberg Technology Innovation in North America and coordinates with FTI in Weinheim. Incumbent will represent the Freudenberg Technology Innovation in North America.

Your tasks

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define strategic partnerships with National Labs and Universities  (30%)
  • Identify and develop a network of universities, laboratories and institutes in key technology areas of interest to Freudenberg
  • Identify current and future tasks, possibilities and/or obstacles for collaboration
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams: technical and intellectual property
  • Establish collaborations with National Labs (through SPP, CRADA programs) and universities in strategic technology areas for the Freudenberg group
  • Advice and follow up on current issues through professional competence
  • Define strategic industrial partnerships in the NA region (30%)
  • Identify critical strategic technology partners: companies and start ups  
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams: technical, intellectual property and merger & acquisitions
  • Identify current and future tasks, possibilities and/or obstacles for collaboration
  • Advice and follow up on current issues through professional competence
  • Successfully lead strategic R&D Projects in the area of Freudenberg Technology Innovation (Project Management) (30%)
  • Organize and guide the execution of strategic R&D projects for Freudenberg Business Groups in North America either locally and coordinating the deployment of resources in Freudenberg Technology Innovation in Weinheim
  • Manage budget (locally)
  • Represent the Freudenberg group in technology and innovation areas (5%)
  • Presentations in press conferences, symposiums and exhibitions

Submit weekly reporting on the current activities with the Director of Future Technologies of Freudenberg Technology Innovation (5%)

Our expectations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum BS in engineering or natural sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience
  • Minimum 3 years working experience within the Freudenberg group preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Freudenberg business units, process/material technologies and products
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to build relationships
  • Critical and strategic thinking

  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS office, especially PowerPoint as well as SharePoint
