Lean Technician I – 2nd Shift
Monday – Thursday (5:30 PM TO 4:00 AM)

Your tasks

  • Plan, organize, and execute Kaizen events. Ensure full and timely closure of Kaizen event action list(s).
  • Guide teams and individuals in application of lean tools to support business needs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing areas to ensure that GROWTTH (Get Rid of Waste Through Team Harmony) is used in a manner that supports and enhances other company programs and systems, such as the Quality System, Theory of Constraints, safety programs, etc.
  • Attend daily meetings on the line with manufacturing teams to review the previous day’s production output, production issues, and action items.
  • Routinely review the attainment charts and other MDI (Managing Daily Improvement) metrics.
  • Troubleshoot items related to productivity, downtime, equipment, and scrap.
  • Pareto the scrap and work with the cell team to develop action plans to reduce and/or eliminate scrap.
  • Support the GROWTTH Manager’s and Manufacturing Engineer’s continuous improvement efforts to improve processes, line flow, line balance, equipment effectiveness, etc.
  • Track, execute, and take accountability for continuous improvement savings and results.
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing and management regarding lean initiatives and results.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement through the use of Kaizen, 5s, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous and measureable improvement in manufacturing operations by leading individuals and teams in the use of appropriate Lean tools and methods.
  • Train other staff in Lean systems (White belt) and continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 5S, etc). Training will be performed in conjunction with real practical projects / Kaizen events to reinforce theoretical principles.

Our expectations

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a role involving training, leadership, and facilitation of teams.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience executing/implementing lean systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with disposable medical device processes, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 5s, A3).
  • Experience in medical quality systems, product development, and manufacturing disciplines and understanding of required standards/regulations impacting medical devices is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  Minitab experience is preferred.

Education

  • High school education.  Good math skills a must.
  • Technical degree or equivalent desirable.
  • Blueprint reading preferred.
