As leader of the Engineering Team, the Plant Engineering Manager will be responsible to maintain, expand, and improve the plant and physical facilities to meet or exceed customer requirement while working within the approved Capital and Expense Plan of the Spunlaid-NA Division.

Plant Engineering Manager

Your tasks

Manage/ consult the Plant Engineering Team consisting of Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Reliability Engineers to delivery plant Operational goals.
Plan, Manage, and Implement projects of various size and scope to included but not limited to engineering studies, specifications, cost estimating, start-ups, and employee training.
Provide design and project management support to the Engineering and Maintenance Team of Freudenberg Nonwovens – Spunlaid-NA Division
Support all company safety objectives through modification or redesign of equipment
Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor software

Our expectations

B.S in Mechanical Engineering from a 4-year ABET accredited school
10-15 years experience in Mechanical Engineering; Experience in a production operation with emphasis on machine design and reliability preferred
Technical Engineer background with emphasis toward practical machine operation, design, reliability, and specification. Nonwovens or polymer experience a plus.
Experience leading & directing a technical group
Ability to lead & manage groups/teams and participate in projects of various size and scope including ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
Ability to work with in house mechanics, electricians, and outside contractors to complete necessary mechanical work
Ability to coordinate with people in cross functional areas, and adapt to rapid change
Experience in replacing obsolete machine control systems. Siemens experience a plus.
Proven ability to resolve complicated technical problems and identify root cause and creatively bringing issues to resolution
Team-oriented and responsive to customer needs
