The Maintenance Coordinator's responsibilities focus on the scheduling and coordination of facility and plant equipment maintenance, computerized maintenance management system oversight, and work request communication. This includes planning upcoming work, estimation of time required, vendor oversight, and collaboration with the mechanical and electrical maintenance supervisors to assign internal labor. The Maintenance Coordinator is expected to perform all of these activities while adhering to Freudenberg standards for safety, clean environment, quality, productivity and meeting the requirements of both internal and external customers. This position is also expected to drive a culture of safety, operational excellence, and accountability.

Maintenance Coordinator

Your tasks

  • Drive a culture of safety awareness and risk assessment in the maintenance group, by planning and expecting time for risk analysis and prevention in the performance of work
  • Assist engineering and maintenance in planning projects for modification and installation of equipment, allocating personnel to maximize quality of work and efficiency
  • Maintain vendor relations for maintenance and schedule work to align with maintenance program needs and PM compliance. Ensure that quality, cost, and long-term viability of vendors is considered
  • Supply metrics and reports to management on engineering and maintenance performance, as well as regulatory and certification required records
  • Perform analysis on work performance and failure rates to identify key areas where re-engineering may help to prevent failure and improve reliability
  • Maintain the PM system through creation, review, and adjustment of PM schedules and work requests for the lines, and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule completion
  • Participate in indentifying and implementing effective maintenance strategies for new assets
  • Employ industry best practices to improve base maintenance programs for compressors, motors, pumps, winders, cooling units, etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the asset and part assignments, and collaborate with supply chain on spare part managementCoordinate outage review meetings to align production, engineering, electrical, and mechanical groups with the planned activities and prioritization of work

Our expectations

  • Require 2+ years experience in Manufacturing/Plant Maintenance
  • Prefer certificate or vocational school training in Industrial Maintenance & Reliability, Machine Shop, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Prefer experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems 
  • Experience in utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Must be able to organize and plan multifaceted work to balance quality, efficiency, and personnel development
  • Must have knowledge of PM / Work Order systems and how to manage themGood command of basic math, reading, writing, and computer (Project, Excel, Word, etc)
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent sense of safety awareness and good housekeeping
  • Ability to work call-ins, overtime or non-regular hours as needed
  • Able to obtain Powered Industrial Truck certification
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Position is located in Durham, NC
  • Requires travel time of less than 5%
