Category Manager

Responsibilitiesarrow_right

  • Develop and implement the sourcing strategy for the responsible category.
  • Manage all sourcing of Finished goods (internal and external suppliers) inc. Support and follow up on new product and sample development; participate in negotiations of price, payment term and other delivery-rated terms; ongoing commercial management of supplier relations.
  • Fulfill the COT\target being set up. Communicate performance results on a scheduled basis.
  • Continually scout for and develop new 3rd party suppliers and assist in supplier quality assessment & audit of identified suppliers.
  • Define and drive cost saving initiatives in all area of sourcing, inc. by scouting innovative product, material and technology.
  • Supplier performance monitoring inc. regular visits and meetings with the incumbent suppliers to maintain an updated status of their production, capability and capacity; foresee and report any potential supplier risk; communicate regularly to internal shareholders on the overall supplier performance; and follow up with suppliers and encourage holistic and sustainable improvements.
  • Support claim in accordance with terms and conditions. take action when necessary to remedy unsatisfactory performance.
  • Support implementation of common process \ system [if any], and other supply chain initiatives as required.
  • Maintain an updated and detailed knowledge of supplier cost drivers based on the commodity market.
  • Other duties or specific projects being assigned by the supervisor.

Qualificationsarrow_right

  • Bachelor Degree or above, preferably with an educational background in textile\garment engineering or related (eg. Textile Engineering, Textile Materials, Dyeing and Finishing, Garment Engineering, Fiber Technology, Fiber Engineering, Non-woven technology)
  • >=6yrs of professional experience in textiles, garment or related industries; Previous experience in Interlining industry is a big plus with solid experience in Interlining production process, product development, product quality and cost.
  • Extensive knowledge in sourcing of Interlining or textile products in China and Asia
  • Experience with supplier negotiations.
  • Solid Sourcing Experience: >= 3 years working as Sourcing Manager
  • Good Negotiation Skills
  • Good in English and computer skills
  • High degree of Integrity
  • Details Oriented, Organized and be able to work under pressure
