Job Summary: This position designs seals to meet customer requirements; conducts design verification and analysis, validation tests, and return investigations; manages product launches; and conducts product and process improvement projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design , development and oversight of testing of axle seals and other radial shaft seals for new vehicle/axle platforms, and resolutions of customer durability and leakage concerns with existing vehicle/axle platforms.
Manage product launch activities including design, prototype, test, PPAP and production launch via APQP.
Lead Product Development Team in the preparation of product cost analysis of prototype and new series production products, which can then be utilized for customer quotation responses.
Actively support the continued compliance and maintenance of the QS9000/ TS169849 system and procedures established for the Product Development Team.(Must also actively support the QS9000 / TS16949 systems and procedures established by other Lead Center support departments.)
Pro-actively participate in customer new product development teams and perform subjective/objective vehicle measurements in conjunction with customer engineering teams. Perform analysis of components returned by the customers and identify root causes for failure, prepare analysis report.
Assist Product Development Team in providing technical support to Corporate Sales and Marketing team in terms of product training, customer and supplier technical presentations, customer problem resolution, establishing marketing strategy, etc.
Assist Product Development Team in providing product training to Lead Center support teams and production associates.
Assist in the resolution of product/process quality concerns identified by both “internal” and “external” customers.
Actively participate in Lead Center’s “Growtth” programs, including major and minor Kaizens, 5-S, Model Cell, VA/VE, and program management workshops.
Travel to customers, supplies, and other FNGP facilities required.
Responsible for Environmental Standard as outlined in CH-EV-016-01.
Manages the Technology Resources to include Product/Process Development, Testing, Sampling, and Prototyping.
Participates on the Management Team in reviewing the plant’s EnvironmentalManagement System.
Responsible for Quality Standard as outlined in CH-MG-001-02.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Masters in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
Project management experience preferred.
