Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Medical Device and previous management experience necessary

Your tasks

  • Development and execution on a strategy for manufacturing capabilities to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Allocation of adequately qualified resources to support Product Development and Manufacturing needs.
  • Mentoring and development of the manufacturing engineering team to meet the needs where they are deployed.
  • Facilitate the development of subject matter expertise for process development, process characterization, validation, and manufacturing.
  • Lead the development of a customer centric department that is highly responsive to customer needs.
  • Educate members of the team about the relationship between their work and achieving project and company objectives.
  • Act as the lead technical person for catheter / minimally invasive device manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities.
  • Develop and execute on a strategy for manufacturing capabilities to align with the FM MIS US strategic plan.
  • Deploy GROWTTH® tools to create simple, robust, and innovative manufacturing processes for new and sustaining products.
  • Allocate adequate resources within the group to support Product Development and Manufacturing requirements and other needs.
  • Effectively communicate to the manufacturing engineering team the project goals and objectives to align expectations both within the company and with our clients.
  • Ensure that manufacturing engineering teams clearly understand their duties and obligations regarding both their job function and the project work to be completed
  • Assist project teams in supporting client communications primarily by interfacing with clients during team meetings and in the resolution of critical project issues.
  • Collaborate with other Managers and with other departments to maintain alignment of corporate objectives.
  • Assist the development and change management of manufacturing transfer cost of goods sold (TCOGS) for new and sustaining products.
  • Participate as a member of the QRB board and ensure that the manufacturing engineering team executes on QNs and CAPAs effectively and on time.
  • Ensure that timecards are properly completed and approved on time

Our expectations

  • Bachelor of Science engineering degree, BSME or BSBME (or related discipline) and experience, in the medical device field.
  • 8 to 10 years relevant experience in a catheter / minimally invasive device process development and/or manufacturing role. 
  • A minimum of at least 2 years of previous experience managing engineering teams in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong technical writing ability.
  • Leadership ability and organizational skills.
  • Strong team oriented professional with good interpersonal skills who is hands-on with a high energy approach to work.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and programs, particularly Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) both to senior management, customers and associates
  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
